Event Recap: Dirty Girl Mud Run
Last Saturday, My girl MimiCuteLips and I set out for our first Dirty Girl Mud Run. One of the main reasons I was excited about this race was that it’s proceeds go to Bright Pink® which is the only national non-profit focused on the prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women. #ForTheGirls
This was my very first 5k (Mimi has done tons of them) so other than getting dirty, I had no idea what to expect. Well, lemme tell you, we had a funky good time!

All smiles… and mud.
Being the blogger divas we are, of course we snapped a bunch of pictures; add to that the dope shots the folks from Dirty Girl got and there were just way too many to put in a post. So I put ’em in a video instead.
The race isn’t timed and the obstacles were all pretty easy, but the mud… chile, the mud is real and it’s plentiful. We managed to stay fairly clean for about 2 miles. Then we hit the slide… I landed face first and ended up looking like I’d just crawled out of the ground.
We finished the race just in time for a storm to roll in and the sky to open up. This is the first time that I’ve had to literally hose myself down with cold water then run through a field in my sports bra trying to get to my car to change clothes. The situation was so ridiculous that we laughed for a solid hour. Also, Mimi forgot her pants, but Imma let her tell that story LOL.
Overall, I couldn’t have picked a better race for my first 5k experience and I definitely plan to #GoDirtyGirl again next year.
What say you? Have you ever done a mud run? If not, would you?

This is certainly one of the best runs I’ve done in a long time. You were a great partner for sure.
We need to make this an annual thing.

Looks like fun. I don’t think I would jump at the chance to do this, but I won’t say it’s out of the question.
