Style & Sustainability with Alcantara

You're wondering what Alcantara is right? Don't feel bad, before I was invited to a super chic luncheon at the Italian Embassy a couple of weeks ago, I had no idea either. Alcantara is the luxe, soft, beautiful fabric that you'll find lining the interiors of high-end vehicles like Lamborghini, Maserati and Ferrari.

Wait, I'm getting ahead of myself. Lemme tell you about this luncheon. After a very warm welcome (read: wine) we took our seats around the table for a delicious lunch and an introduction to Alcantara; the company and the material. Check out some of my snaps from lunch:

Alcantara is the company that manufactures the material of the same name. I'd describe the material as beautiful, durable and sustainable goodness. Not only does Alcantara line some of the worlds most beautiful vehicles, it's also taking the fashion world by storm in partnership with brands like Swarovski, Woolrich and 10 Corso Como.

To drive home their passion for sustainablity, Alcantara partnered with other globally concious brands on the 2015 Global Citizen Earth Day rally here in D.C. The event featured artists like Mary J. Blige, Usher and No Doubt and as if they hadn't spoiled us enough, they invited us to be their guests. It was amazeballs. Here are some snaps:

Whew, I had an awesome couple of days hanging out with the Alcantara team and learning about the company. They've definitely got a new fan over here!
