Chic Lit: Sisterhood & Success with Miss Jessie’s {Giveaway}

By  |

I'm so excited to be amongst this group of beautiful movers, shakers and innovators to support Miko Branch and spread the word about Miss Jessie’s book: Creating a Successful Business from Scratch – NaturallyMiss-Jessies-Blog-Tour

Back when I decided to rock my naturally kinky/coily hair, I, like many other naturals just begining their journey, develped a slight case of product junkie-ism. Okay, maybe not slight. Anywho, one of the first products I was excited to try was Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding. I remember stalking the Miss Jessies site and watching every natural hair styling tutorial they had available. This was my introduction into the natural hair community and to Miko and Titi Branch.

Here's a little about the book:

8Blackquotes_3-3-15Miss Jessie's is a memoir and business guide rich with inspirational life lessons and unique business advice from Miko Branch, the Chief Executive Officer of the dynamic Miss Jessie’s — the company that revolutionized the hair care industry.

When Miko  and her sister, Titi, were children, their grandmother, Miss Jessie, taught them independence and showed them the value of being “do it yourself” women, all while whipping up homemade hair concoctions at her kitchen table. As co-founders of Miss Jessie's, Miko reveals how she and Titi applied those lessons to create a successful business from scratch.

  1. I too remember when I started my natural journey, I had about every product out there, including some of Ms. Jessies. These days, I have my go-to natural products (consisting mostly of oils) ๐Ÿ˜€

    Sounds like a great book that I'd love to win! I'm not seeing the widget, for some reason? My go to style is a flat twist out, and my product would be any kind of curly pudding!

    My go to style is usually just keeping my hair braided up underneath a good unit.  I prefer to let my hair be as it grows.  Very interested in reading this new book, thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

  4. What a great giveaway! Curly pudding was one of the first products I tried as well and it's a tried/true… still use it to this day. I'm reading the book now and I'm learning so much. So thankful that she took the time to share her story with us.

    Hello 2005, I'd just gone natural and then discovered Miss Jessie's curly pudding. It did wonders for my hair. Did I mention how great it smelled.

  6. I'm so glad I got a chance to meet Miko last night at the DC book signing. She is amazing and this book is SOOOOOO good! I finished it in a week which is record time for me lol
