Pack in clusters

Express Yourself: My favorite part of first impressions. Your choice of clothes, jewelry, shoes and accessories are all saying something about you before you even speak.  Make sure that what you are wearing shows the world what YOU want them to see. For a business event, it may also be a good idea to represent your brand (colors, logos, etc) in your outfits. Here are some additional tips for chic conference wear:

  • Wear comfortable shoes! You will spend a lot of time on your feet and I dunno about you but I can get downright evil when my feet hurt. Opt for cute flats over towering stilettos.
  • Conference spaces are notoriously cold so bring a sweater, blazer or wrap, something that you can layer over whatever you’re wearing.
  • The dress code for most conferences is business casual. You will probably only need one outfit per day. If there will be evening mixers or networking parties, consider swapping out flats for flashy stilettos. Trade your toned down conference top in for a sparkly embellished top or add some glitzy jewelry to go from day to night with ease.
  • Pack in clusters! The cluster pictured above will give you at least 10 different combos and you'll still have plenty of room in your bag…awesome for those who are flying and want to avoid baggage fees!

FAB-u-lous! This was packed with some great pointers, all spelled out for those of us (guilty) who *think* we are good at remembering things! I need to make a plan, definitely. And also try to figure out my own cluster! I admit I’m not great with the clustering thing, esp since I’m all about alternate options, which automatically makes me a card-carrying member of Over-Packers Anonymous… But with these helpful hints, and plenty of time to plan, I think I can effectively tackle this! Yes, YES!
