Yoga is Not for Punks + A Giveaway

A few weeks ago, Hubs and I were sent a couple of Flip Belts to review. Hubs is an avid runner and I'm more of an at home workout video occassional Zumba class girl so I thought it'd be fun to see how the belt held up for both of us. Here's a little info about the Flip Belt:

"Gone are the days of baggy sweat pants with bulky pockets. Active wear is sleeker and more stylish than ever before. The only problem is there’s nowhere to hold your phone, music and keys. That’s where FlipBelt comes in. Who would have thought a singular tubular waistband could solve one of the biggest nuisances that athletes face—where to tuck must-have items while exercising.

Every bit as flattering and contoured as the rest of today’s athletic wear, FlipBelt is designed to carry your on-the-go essentials without tying up your hands. Made of a moisture-wicking, spandex-lycra blend, FlipBelt slides right on and sits snug on your hip. No bulk. No bounce. FlipBelt is also machine washable and machine dryable."

Oh how I wish my abs looked like this…

The ordering process was easy peasy for us. I do want to point out though that sizing can be a bit tricky if you don't know your waist or hip measurements. You'll want to decide whether you will wear the belt at your waist or lower on your hips, and take that measurement to help you decide on the best size. Hubs and I both went with a medium which worked perfectly for us. Hubs was definitely happy with the performance of the belt on his runs. He said there wasn't any bouncing or shifting and he didn't need to readjust at all. He usually runs with just his iPod and this worked well for him. I figured the ultimate test for mine would be the Bikram yoga class and I was impressed with how well it performed. Since the class was in a studio, I didn't feel comfortable leaving my credit cards and ID's in the locker room so I tucked them into my Flip Belt. My phone didn't fit, but I have a ginormous Samsung Galaxy phone with an Otterbox case. I'm sure it would fit if I took the case off though. Even with all the sweating, bending, and stretching during class, my belt didn't pinch, roll or shift; I barely noticed it. The Flip Belt is a definite winner for me. No more sticking my phone, iPod, and credit cards in my bra! Woot!

Yoga isnt for punks! I am actually nervous to do hot yoga in fear I will pass out…and your friend is all cheery about it. Might need to re-evaluate that friend contract quick lol!

  9. Girl you can KEEP that hot yoga to yourself! lol But I love the idea of this belt. That might be just the thing to motivate me to get back to my workout routine lol

    • I agree with you @MomsNCharge hot yoga is not for me!!!! But that flip belt I have been eyeing for A WHILE!! Congrats Te I know the benefits of yoga just can't get with the heat  of hot yoga.

  10. This is my first time visiting your blog! IT's so cute and I love your header.

  11. " Yoga isn't for punks". That is too funny. My sister thinks yoga isn't a real exericise.  I should have her join a yoga class with me and she how well she does.

My favorite workout is on a rowing machine! Unfortunately they are pretty pricey but I am saving my pennies! In the meantime I like to lift weights, take my dog for long walks, and do yoga/pilates DVDs!

Oh no! I tried to enter the giveaway the minute it ended, apparently — Good luck to the lucky winner! Seems like a very neat product!

  17. Seriously! My trainer roped me into starting yoga. It's so hard! Lol. It grows on you after a while.

    • I really want to like it but I can’t help feeling I’m doing all the poses wrong. I need a remedial class ๐Ÿ™‚
