Let’s Get to Work! The Fashion of Goodwill

By  |

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the Goodwill of Greater Washingtons Fashion of Goodwill Runway Show & Gala at the beautiful new Marriott Marquis here in DC. Let’s Get to Work! The Fashion of (4)

Here's a little info about the event:

Now in its 7th year, the 2014 theme will highlight the growing prominence of business style while also reinforcing the Goodwill mission: Let’s Get to Work

Hundreds of business and community leaders will enjoy a fashionable display of business attire that spotlights the growing importance fashion plays in the workplace.

The runway show will feature a collection of high quality contemporary and vintage outfits from Goodwill's retail stores that will be available for purchase onsite at the Goodwill Trunk Show. The Trunk Show will be open for shopping before and after the Fashion Show.

The 2014 runway show will raise thousands of dollars to support Goodwill’s mission to transform lives and communities through the power of education and employment by providing access to free job training and supportive services for people with disabilities and disadvantages.

I wasn't able to attend last year and wasn't really sure what to expect but lemme tell you… it was Ah-MAZING!  I was in great (and very well dressed) company, the trunk show was full of all kinds of goodies from Goodwill stores in the area, and the runway show did NOT disappoint. The best part? The shopping of course! Attendees were given the opportunities to shop looks straight off the runway. Here are a couple of the pieces I snatched up:

#Mine (4) I spotted this oversized clutch on the runway and had to have it. When they brought the shoes and purses out after the show I was on a mission to find it. #Score (3)

Overall, I really enjoyed myself and am definitely looking forward to next years show.

You can still snatch up some of the runway looks at the Fashion of Goodwill – Online Auction!
