The Ultimate Tall Girl Shopping Guide

By  |

As a member of #TeamTall, I know that there are certain retail experiences that I just won't have. For instance, I can't go into a store and grab a cute pair of pants off the rack because I know, that at the very least, they will be ankle pants on me. Long sleeved shirts are also questionable as they usually fit more on the 3/4 length side. Dresses look like shirts, shirts look like crop tops and shorts? Those are basically underwear. Shopping while tall is kind of a struggle. Fortunately for us glamazons, retailers are FINALLY doing more than just adding a few inches to inseams. Being tall doesn't just mean longer than average legs, so the fact that some retailers are providing options with longer sleeves, lengths and inseams says that they kinda get it.  I say kinda because lots of the long/tall options are only available online. *One battle at a time*

  1. This is a great list, I'm not exactly tall {5'5.5} but I'm long. Most retailers think because of my height that I'm petite, not honey. I am a shorter stallion, but a stallion never the less. 34 inch length is perfect for me; I used to shop Alloy many years ago. I shall return as I'm in need of slacks.

Great list, but I don’t have a problem with my pants being to short, I’m the total opposite my pants are usually too long. I mostly buy all my jeans from express.

    • Pants too long? I have no idea what that's like LOL πŸ™‚ Thanks for stopping by!

  3. What a great roundup! I'm on the short side, so I usually have the opposite problem, like jeans being too long or some high waisted jeans coming above my belly button LOL. My sister is really tall, I'll have to share this with her!

I have the opposite problem. I'm 5'3-5'4 on a good day. My pants always end up being long and wider than then they should be. #shortgirlprobs

    • LOL @ “5’4″ on a good day” We all have our struggles πŸ™‚

  5. Great post! I am not very tall, but rather at the awkward in-between height. I still have issues finding pants that fit correctly – always too long LOL!

    • I’d love to find a pair of pants that are too long! Never gonna happen LOL

  6. Whoa what an amazing list. I'm not a tall girl but I think this is a great resource that I can pass on to my vertical blessed sistahs.

Great list! I'm only 5'4" but I have long legs and finding things that fit small at the waist while still being long in the legs is a challenge (which is why I wear skits and dreses 90% of the time).
