Double Take: Hidden Wedge Sneakers
By T. Espinoza |
I imagine you guys are getting tired of me talking about hidden wedge sneakers. I settled on the Steve Madden 'Hilight' to satisfy my own lust for the the trend and have recently considered going back for the pink ones. Being the Fab & Frugal Fashionista I am, the thought of plopping down another $100+ wasn't exactly appealing. Enter the Red Circle Boutique aka Target.
The styles are so similar and the $29.99 price tag is much more walletable (I hereby declare that a word).
On the left: Steve Madden 'Hilight' Wedge Sneaker, $75 | On the right: Xhilaration Kahsha High Top Wedge Sneaker – Multicolor, $14
What say you? Are you tired of these yet?

Wow!!! Ok so I wasn’t a huge fan of the sneakers before but they are looking super duper fly now. LOL I shall run off to the Red Circle Boutique and get me some. Thanks!

I’m still on the fence with these heeled sneakers. I’ve seen some I really like but haven’t decided if I’m going ti rock this trend. I just picked up some great deals at Target on Mossimo and Cherokee shoes though. 8 pair of shoes for me and my daughter for $6 each.

These sneakers are cute for my teenie bopper. I am politically liberal but very conservative fashion wise. I am not brave enough to try these! But, they are cute for a younger person.

I can’t. I’m looking. I’m trying to imagine. I can’t. I’m really confused about it all lol. I still haven’t given Uggs a try. ha!

LOL. Your comment seriously cracked me up. It took me a while to try Uggs. They are seriously ugly but so crazy comfy. Like house shoes that are okay to wear outside π

I’ll have to share this with my tween. Like Janeane I am pretty conservative but she would love these.

So what kinds of things would my more conservative ladies like to see?

I found a pair at a local store by my job here in NY and I was ‘thisclose’ to buying them. *Heads downstairs to store to purchase wedge sneaker while on lunch break*

They are cute but too stylish for me to actually go out and purchase. Over the last five years or so I try to only pick up classic pieces that I can wear ten years from now. I find I rarely wear shoes/boots/sneakers if they are too stylish often. My niece might like these though, maybe a holiday gift?

You’re right about the trendy factor DJ. I generally try to focus my big purchases on more ‘wear forever’ pieces as well but couldn’t help myself with these π The $30 price tag makes a trendy purchase forgivable π

Ummm, say whaaaaa? Heeled wedge sneakers?? What will they think of next? Well, being that I don’t wear sneakers much, this wouldn’t be something I’d buy but if I see these in Target I GOTTA try them on cos I just have to know how it feels versus what it looks like. π
If I do, I’ll be sending you a picture LOL

LOL I don’t wear sneakers much either Kesha but I figured it was like a sneaker/heel hybrid and that was okay with me π

So far I have 3 pair of Steve’s and I plan on getting them all I love sneakers but I’m 24 and in college so I usually just wear heels. These fulfill my love of both. Btw saw that Target ones but they look super duper cheap.
