First Impressions: Mielle Organics

By  |

There haven’t always been many companies that make haircare products specifically for us naturally kinky/curly girls. Things are definitely changing in that area with more and more natural hair products *finally* hitting shelves. With that said, when I was introduced to Mielle Organics during the Ubiquitous Beauty, Hair, Health Expo, I was left trying to figure out how I missed them hittin’ the scene. I clearly haven’t been living.

I was provided Mielle Organics products for my participation in the Expo. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Anywho, on day 2 of the Expo I had the opportunity to get my hair *did* by the awesomely talented Chris Curse using the Mielle Organics haircare line. Check it out:

First, my hair was washed with the Babassu Oil Conditioning Sulfate-Free Shampoo followed by the Babassu Oil & Mint Deep Conditioner. Both products smelled really nice and the conditioner made my scalp feel all tingly and such.

Yes. I walked around in public with a shower cap on. This beat face needed to be seen honey.

Thanks to my bleached/damaged ends my hair was a little dry and crispy, so Chris applied some of the Organic White Peony Ultra Moisturizing Leave-In Conditioner (concentrating on the ends) before blowing out my hair. This stuff smells soooo good y’all.

There was definitely a difference in how my hair felt after the leave-in

After straightening my hair and getting rid of the damaged ends, Chris finished me off with some of the Mint Almond Oil and Honey & Ginger Edge Gel. Honey!!! This hair was #LAIDT20160828_174159_picmonkeyed

The humidity just wouldn’t let me be great so this style lasted all of two days. This is why I never straighten my hair in the summer. To get my kinky back, I used all the same stuff I mentioned above and my hair was still super soft. I’ve used the mint almond oil pretty much every day since the Expo and the leave-in has been awesome to replenish moisture on the days when I re-twist. I haven’t used the co-wash or vitamins yet but based on everything else, I’m sure they’re awesome.

What say you? Have you tried Mielle Organics? What did you think?
